Hey Kingston Netball Fans!

We’re excited to welcome you back to our blog after a very long Christmas Break and a 2 month long Jan! We decided to roll our blog into 2 months as December and January consisted of a very long Christmas break!

Whether you’re a die-hard fan, a dedicated player, or just curious about our incredible netball journey, this is your go-to spot for all things netball, and a good way to keep in the loop of what's being going on with the Kingston Netball Team.

As we step into a new month (and new year!!), we’ve got a lot in store for you...From action-packed match reports and player spotlights to socials and charity events!

2025 TASTER SESSIONS

We ran new year taster session and welcomed many new members into the club - some of which went straight into our competitive teams! It was useful to hold tasters even for members that joined in September, as skills had been developed and alot of people moved up into higher teams due to top notch training sessions from our coach Claire!

MEET OUR CAPTAINS :P

In the fast-paced and strategic game of netball, the role of a captain is crucial, serving as the anchor and motivator for their team. 

Join us as we introduce these influential figures and explore how their leadership is driving the team to new heights on and off the court.

Today, we shine a spotlight on the leaders who have been at the forefront of our netball team's journey, exemplifying exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication. These captains have not only led their teams with tactics and sportsmanship but have also inspired their peers with their dedication and passion for the game. 

 ANNOUNCING OUR THIRD CHARITY EVENT💙

In a world where competitive spirit often draws lines between sports, our rugby and netball team are breaking boundaries by coming together for an extraordinary charitable event. This charity event sees the two teams swapping their traditional fields of play to raise funds for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), a leading charity dedicated to child protection and welfare. Imagine rugby players finessing netball passes in our dresses, while netballers gear up to tackle the demands of a rugby match—all in the name of charity and awareness. It is £3 pp to enter, and all funding will be donated straight to Charity.

This unique event promises to not only provide entertainment and laughter but also to highlight the versatility, sportsmanship, and altruism of athletes committed to making a difference. This event is open to all members of Kingston University. So please join us as we delve into the preparations, challenges, and motivations behind this remarkable fusion of sports, and discover how our members are leveraging their talents to support a cause much larger than the games themselves
.

This event will be run by each team's captains and charity secs with the support of each team's  committee :)

 INTER-LEAGUE TERM 1 WINNERS🏆

In a season of unity and giving, three outstanding individuals have risen above the rest to take home the top three spots in the inter-league.

Meet our three champions, who have shown that sportsmanship and commitment can be a winning combination. These inspiring individuals have demonstrated that the spirit of competition can be a powerful force for good....and sometimes bad haha, but mostly inspiring others to follow their lead.

Hippie Socials 🌞

Our social secs ran a hippie social where EVERYONE got free outfits and a VIP booth in pryzm - big shoutout to Tara and Shannon for keeping our club the coolest ;)

Varsity is only a month away, and the dates have been announced, but timings and extra's have not yet been confirmed. So watch this space for any updates ! x
